Tali Carmi is a great children's author. On the latest one I was able to read and share with my niece Abigail travels to the North Pole. Where she makes a new friend. Even though her travels with the special red bike and secret book are shortly lived. She learns a few things about the landscape and people. Which I find is enough for children at this reading level.

The illustrations are bright and interactive. With actions and key words kids can either tell you what is going on before you read or can tell who each character is and what they are doing. Keeping just enough attention on the page to get through the words and on to the next page.

These stories do not seem complicated. Or overly filled with a lot of things going on. Just simple amounts of character and actions. Nothing more then 3 character at a time on a page including animals and people. Making it simple to follow the main character and not confuse those learning to read.

This story was super cute and sweet. A grandmother mouse is having her 100th Birthday and is invited to come to England and has tea with the mouse Queen of England and is allowed to bring 2 guest with her. As the story progresses there are a few close calls. While being an adventure none the less they make it to the destination a bit later then they thought. Did they make it in time? My niece who is 6 said that she loved the book. She really enjoyed the adventure the mice went on. I did notice that there were some words that I know she would have not been able to get through if I were to give her this book. But, nothing that would stop from enjoying the bright and well drawn pictures that cover the pages.

The illustrations were my favorite part. So detailed and colorful. Not to mention looking like the actual animal just hopping off the page. There was nothing I feel missing with the story picture wise. I do however, feel that at the end there was a chunk missing from the point with the the dogs to the moment they are with the queen. I know my niece did not think much of it but to someone older it seems like something is missing. Otherwise, a great story for children of all ages.

This book has a wonderful message and story. From being the only little girl in to nothing frilly or girly and everything mud and climbing trees. To her wanting a friend but not the kind she think she wants. In other ways of saying learning not to judge a book or person by the cover or outside.

The illustration are nicely drawn and beautifully colored showing any child the inner workings of the story line. Making the message that more pronounced of the differences. I also enjoy instead of the traditional bright and bold solid colors that I usually see in children's book she took more of a water colored way at her illustrations. Making it a great book to read at anytime especially bedtime.

I would recommend this book for everyone no matter the age because the meaning and conclusion is something that everyone should try to do or try more to accomplish.

This book is sweet and cute. The main character Little Hoo I have found on is a star character in it's own set of stories from all the Holidays and special events that occur through out the year. In this particular story Little Hoo is enticed but the little sounds he hears through out the night as he waits for Santa to visit his house. Each time that he hears something he goes looking to see what it could be and it ends up not being what his mind has dreamt of. Until the moment he finally falls asleep and does not go in search of what is making the sound.

I find this is a beautifully illustrated story made of brilliant colored pictures. She not only illustrate the story but was the author also Ponnay kept it simple it does seem to repeat certain phrases but it does not take away from the book. I also love that because certain phrases are repeated it makes those learning to read alone or with someone much easier for them to get through not to mention the short and to the point sentences.

However, for the Holiday and those who I would believe this is gauged for is great work and beautifully executed. I would get it for those learning to read and those who love owl especially.
