The Taste: Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC | Influenster

The Taste
Season 1
Channel: ABC
When: Tuesday at 8PM Eastern 7 PM Central

The Taste takes 16 competitors from all walks of life ranging from home cooks to the pros out there in some of the top restaurants of the world. Every week the competitors makes one dish that they then have to blindly give to the judges to be told either they are staying on to become the winner or to go home. The competitors are fighting for $10,000 and The Taste Trophy.

The judges are much like the competitors and range from home cooks to top chefs. The home chef would be  Nigella Lawson who has her own shows on the Cooking Channel and a few appearances on the Food Network. Not to mention that many books that she also has along with apps for both the IPad and IPhone.

Next judge we have is Ludo Lefebvre who discovered his culinary identity while being taught in France is also the creator of LudoBites a "pop-up" restaurant. I would have to say that he is one of the most awarded chefs of this time being only in his 30s and recognized as one the world's 50 Greatest Chefs. You may have seen him on Food Networks's Iron Chef, The Today Show, or Bravo's Top Chef Masters.

Brian Malarkey who is a restaurateur who has opened 5 restaurants in the last 2 years is not shy of the television screen being on numerous shows on Bravo, Travel Channel, TLC, and OWN. Also has put together a cookbook of his very own Come Early: Stay, Late.

Lastly but certainly not least has to be one of my favorite chefs to watch ever and that is Anthony Bourdain. I would believe that more of the newer generation would know him from his show on Travel Channels No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. However, the older generations would know him for this many books that he has released such as Kitchen Confidential and Don't Eat Before Reading This.

Now that I have told you a little back ground with the judges I am going to let you know my thoughts. Which are I cannot wait for this show week to week. Malarkey always seems to say something to make me laugh, while Anthony is nonsense and this is how things are. The best part to me is the taste test because they never know whos they are tasting and who they are sending home until it is to late. So everything is about the food and not the person or the chefs story.

I believe when everything comes down to what the show is about which is the taste of the food then that is just what is simple yet masterful about this show. Making it not only entertaining but realistic and what cooking is all about.
