First, I would relate these facial pads to those I use to use when I was younger. Those being the OXY pads in the small cylinder jar. They really left me feeling the same way. I was clean slightly tighter in certain areas. It certainly felt a bit gritty or rough when using but left none of that feeling on my skin. It helped me with my break out areas. While the scent that I got from it was normal to anything else I have been washing my skin with, that it is not medicinal but it is nor floral either. Its more of a soap or herb scent that is just clean.
