My little puppy did not know what to make of this when I had it on my hand. After allowing her to smell it and realize it was nothing to be afraid of I then was able to start petting and grooming my short haired little pup. She gets so still and just lays there loving all the attention and grooming that she can take at that moment but, it is not long before she takes off and is in that playful mood. There are a few times that she has taken in as a toy and tried to run off with it but other then that I hope she begins to understand that it is not. Because it is one of the only grooming tools that she is not afraid of.

The fit of the glove is fine. I do not have any need for the thumb area of the mitt at all. It tends to fall off and not fit so I end up most times just using the main hand area to brush and groom. If I were a guy or had a bigger dog that may be something that I would be saying different but I have smaller hands and a medium to small dog. However, I will still continue to use it and groom her being it is easy and simple.
