If you like the traditional Nursery Rhymes and the older Grimm Fairy Tales these are just the right stories for you. They are not super gory but they are of a new world that is not what most people share with their children. Yes, you get "Ba, Ba Black Sheep" story and "Miss Muffet" but with a monster twist. Adding in Orks and Goblins maybe a Fae creature here and there, to show both good and bad or light and dark.

It reminds me of Lord of the Rings and even earlier then that it reminded me of the Labyrinth by The Jim Henson Creature Shop. Especially while looking at the photos you can catch a glimpse here and there of something that you may have seen as a kid or in a movie and relate it to your child that way.

But it give a fantasy twist on the world that makes lines a but blurred. Like girls running away from spiders. Or little boys always getting in trouble. There are no "shoes" that the creatures are put in and if you see them in a certain role it is because you were raised with the other set of rhymes.

I received this book for free in exchange for my own personal thoughts and or opinions.
