The original Birch Xylitol is made in the USA, and even though it looks and taste just like sugar it has 40% fewer calories. Along with being kosher, GMO, corn, wheat, gluten, soy, and dairy free. Not to mention safe for diabetics. It also has no after taste that most alternative sweeteners can have.

Xylitol is certainly sweet with no after taste. But this is more then the normal granulated sugar that you would have in your cardboard at home. It is a bigger grain, much like decorative colored sugar. Which I like more because you can see them better and it takes less of them to sweeten my drinks and food.

I also like that they melt nicely. Even if I just place some on the tip of my finger and then eat them they do not linger or feel rough on my tongue. These are smooth and breakdown nicely without fear of the grit and sugar that does not mix in right to a pitcher of liquid or a bottle of your favorite drink.

One thing that I would like to have had is a conversion chart or somewhere on the packaging it stated the exchange from sugar to Xylitol. I ended up looking it up online and read that it should be an even exchange but only using it and testing it will you know how you prefer something. I find that the even exchange is perfect for me and my family. Plus with 40% lesser calories who could go wrong with that.
